| | | | Мнения на посетители: | | | | | | This first novel by Joe Tompkins is a delightful read. It is a modern rendition of the Sleeping Beauty story, with many twists and turns. I found myself completely caught up in the action of the story; in fact, I finished reading the book the day after I bought it because I couldn't put it down. While I liked all the characters, I especially liked Corey, the narrator's brother. Maybe I like him because he reminds me so much of so many students I've had! The author has done a great job of making the characters realistic and likable, even the magical fairies. The action in the book doesn't stop; there is very little "down time" for Jasen, Corey, Elayne, and Emily. Throughout all that happens in the novel, humor is present, giving the book just enough of a light-hearted feel without making it too stress-filled. I think this book will definitely appeal to young adult readers. |  | | | There's something in this book for everyone! "Sleeping Beauty Overslept" is cleverly plotted with a satisfying finish.
